Dear Parent,

Excelsior American school gurgaon planner is underway and very soon the new planner, classes, your wards new teacher etc will be intimated to you.

Excelsior education gurgaon is very excited about the new session, as new children would be joining the Excelsior Family. We are working nowadays in getting accreditation from Cambridge University for IGCSE, hiring new staff in teaching and Admin as we are growing.

We have been most fortunate as the Dean of Swami Vivekananda Institute, Bangalore, [this organization has 150 schools in the South] Mr. Reddy visited at excelsior american shcool gurgaon on Friday and we shall be starting compulsory distressing classes for our staff in collaboration with this institute.

Excelsior American gurgaon session will be starting on the 04th of April.

This mail is primarily to inform you of the Summer Break ...it will be from 14th May to 13th July 2007. School shall reopen on the 16th Of July 2007.

EXCELSIOR ADVENTURE CAMP
on the 20 th Feb 2007

Keeping up with the spirit of bringing about holistic development of the child an Adventure Camp was organized in the excelsior american school gurgoan on the 20th Of February. It was an eventful day as children from 2 years olds to Grade V could be seen trying their hands at Rappeling, cliff climbing, River crossing[ Traverse] Burma Bridge, Commando Net, Commando Crawl, Spider Maze, Tent Pitching & Artificial Wall,Army Obstacle, Tarzan Swing, Hop scotch (Tyres & Stones] Zorbing Ball………………………… The camp provided ample opportunities for children to discover their own potential. The camp was also of immense educational value and an exhilarating experience for the children.

The Excelsior education gurgaon philosophy believes that adventure has to be an integral part of the curriculum if children are to learn how to manage risk. Adventures are not adventures unless there is an element of risk. The greater the risk, the greater the adventure. Facing risk and either overcoming it or succumbing is character building. It teaches the children about our limits and stretches our capabilities. Excelsior American Gurgoan Director, Shalini Nambiar says…’The modern phenomenon of trying to shield children from all risk has delayed the essential risk-taking experimentation until adolescence where it is potentially much more destructive because of the type of risks involved and because many adolescents have not developed the skills to deal with risk.’

Any time you are re-energized in a vibrant way as through an adventure, there are very positive physiological effects, including increased blood and oxygen flow to the tissues in your body. The new demands, of the outdoor environment, help bring out other new strengths, in young peoples well. Just because you're not the best at football, maths or science, doesn't mean that you have to be scared of heights or can't pull up your own body weight. Very often, different participants shine, allowing them acknowledgement from their peers that they have never experienced before. We find that, in general, being out in a strange, often alien situation, is a great leveller. This aspect of the outdoors can draw out unexpected outcomes.

The essence of the excelsior american gurgaon camp was Overcoming Fear which is perhaps the most individualistic component of outdoor adventure .It is self orientated and internally measured, but the process allows further participation.

The objective of excelsior american school gurgaon Outdoor Adventure activities, is to take children from the 'comfort zone', where they can easily cope with an activity without feeling anxious, into the 'adventure zone', where thrills and spills can excite.

Adventure education has a responsibility for that area of curiosity, wonder and experiment that formal education could not and can not provide’ .

This is with reference to the Excelsior Adventure Camp, which was to be held on Saturday, the 10th of Feb 2007 and had to be postponed due to the
weather condition on that day.

The camp will be held on the Tuesday, the20th of Feb 2007 and the schedule will remain the same, which is attached for your ready reference. This has
been done as the next Saturday free with the organizers is 03rd March and on taking a call with the children they definitely wanted it at the earliest
Since the date is changed incase you haven't registered and are interested in having your ward join the camp kindly contact the Help desk and make the payment.

The Thoroughbred The Riding School will be also showcasing their horses and a demo ride to the children on the 20th of Feb 2007 in the school premises after the adventure camp. The timings for the same will be 04:00pm to 05:00pm. The organizers would be available there to talk to the parents

4  The School Building shall remain closed from the 25 th of March 2007 till 03 rd April 2007 .

5  Excelsior American School Gurgoan New Academic session begins on the 04 th of April 2007 .

Dear Parent,

In our continuous endeavor to bring about holistic development of our children, we are organizing an ‘Excelsior Day Adventure Camp' in the school premises on the 10 th of Feb 2007 for classes Safari to V. We have hired a team of professionals who have been working in the field of Adventure sports for the past six years. The main aim of this program of excelsior education gurgaon is to inculcate a sense of responsibility, team building, coordination, survival instinct and confidence. Since from next year this shall become a part of the excelsior american gurgaon curriculum thus it is mandatory that each child should join this.

Children are required to wear tracksuits . Parents are required to drop and pick up their wards, as no school transport will ply.

This program is also open for your excelsior education gurgaon children's friends/cousins etc.

The fee for the Dinosaurs to Class V is Rs 998/- and for the Safari/Discovery, it is Rs 489/-.

Kindly note that since Safari/ Discovery are the youngest group they shall have only half a day program while the rest will have a full day. The details of the program are enclosed. Please, fill up the Performa attached and submit it at the excelsior shcool gurgaon Front Office by 20 th of Jan 2006, Saturday, positively since we need to make arrangements.

THE CAMP WILL RUN PROVIDED WE HAVE MINIMUM 90 ENROLLMENTS SO KINDLY ENROLL AT THE EARLIEST.

With reference to the Christmas Carnival on the 23rd of Dec 2006 in excelsior american school gurgaon , Kindly take a note of the following points

1. Pre-Primary children i.e. Safari to Cultural can come with their parents dressed in home clothes except some children from Cultural who are part of
Carol Singing and the Section Educator will inform the parents individually their reporting time.

2. Elementary children i.e Class I to V are on duty thus they need to report to the school at 10 .30 am in their Sports Track suit.

3. Children of Cultural and Wildlife class are giving a dance performance at 11:15am so parents are requested to make sure they are present in the
school at 11 am dressed in whatever they desire and wearing a Santa cap.

4. Timings of the excelsior education gurgaon carnival are from 11 am to 4 pm so kindly making sure you all are there.

5. Excelsior american gurgaon children are making beautiful things and since it's for a noble cause please make sure that you do purchase them to encourage the little ones.
